Cassandra Nelson is the owner of Acupuncture & Fertility. She is a Licensed Acupuncturist in South Carolina and a National Board Certified Herbalist. She is Nationally Board Certified as a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine, requiring additional training and five separate national board exams, which means she has a comprehensive knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine and Western/Biomedicine.
In 1995, Cassandra earned a BA in Liberal Arts from San Diego State University. In 2005, she obtained her Master’s Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, one of the finest Chinese Medicine institutions in the nation, completing a 3000-hour, three and a half year, clinical and classroom program studying under several leading acupuncturists in the fields of women’s health, orthopedics, and psychology.
In 2006, she relocated to Greenville, South Carolina and opened up her practice, focusing on women’s health. She worked under Dr. Randine Lewis, author of the popular book The Infertility Cure, for three years, becoming a fertility expert in her own right. Cassandra uses acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Eastern nutrition, lifestyle counseling, and guidance in exercises to heal and strengthen the hormonal and reproductive systems.
Cassandra had experience with acupuncture from an early age. First, as a child with severe asthma and again as a young woman with endometriosis. Both times, Western medicine had no answers. Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine saved her life. When she’s not practicing, she enjoys traveling, cooking, dinner parties, and spending time with her dog, Finn.
Nicole Negron is the newest member of our acupuncture team. She is a licensed acupuncturist in South Carolina and nationally certified in Biomedicine, Foundations of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Acupuncture, having completed a five year program and accumulated over seven hundred hours of clinical experience as a trainee and intern.
In 2012, Nicole completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at the University of Puerto Rico. Immediately following, she started her Master of Science in Oriental Medicine at East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, Fl, as well as a second Bachelor’s in Professional Health Sciences. Being fluent in English and Spanish has allowed her to help many people from different backgrounds.
Nicole always knew she wanted to be in the medical field, she just didn’t know it would be Eastern Medicine. After her father, a doctor himself, saw doctor after doctor with no relief for pain after a surgery, he turned to Traditional Chinese Medicine and saw remarkable results. After a few months he was pain free and bragging about the wonders of this ancient medicine. She just had to see for herself. After that, there was no looking back. When she’s not practicing, she enjoys being outdoors with her fiancé and dog, taking pictures, reading, writing and cooking.
